Jake gritted his teeth as he got up. "We have to fall back for the time being..." Jake growled, reluctant to leave. He couldnt save anyone, but he'd be even less help if he was killed. "skira parer hut-uun....." (revenge waits, coward<worst possible insult in mandolorian culture>)

Shar, knowing Jake is ok, looks at the ruined temple again.
*tears swell up in his eyes*
"My friends, my masters, my family, all gone."
*puts his head down then looks at Jake*
"There are others though. I am sure not all of them were at the temple."

Jake just stared at the burning temple. "No. But there were many who were." He itched to rush in to try an rescue any survivers. But it would be jaro, a death wish. "Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la." He murmered to try and confort himself. It wasnt working.

"this is probably one of the darkest times in history."

"Aye....." Jake murmered. Jake tapped his com. "Get a firecrew to the Jedi Temple." He turned off the comm before receving an answer. "Let's see how close we can get." Jake said quietly, mostly to himself. "Maybe we can save someone."

*shakes his head knowing the chances were slim*
"I hope so, I really hope so."
*starts toward temple*

Jake murmered a prayer for every corspe he saw, both sith and jedi. He kiked a redhot beam away, scattering ash and sparks. He picked up a abandoned lightsaber. He turned the cooling metal in his hand.
"This reminds me of mine...." Jake murmered. He ingnited it gently, reveling a bright blue blade. He deactivated it and rested his head on it. "You are not forgoten...." Jake whispered to no one.

Shar walked along the corpses with a sick feeling. Almost each of the jedi, he recognized and were even friends with.
"this day shall never be forgotten."
Shar gave a quick and meaningful verbal memorial to each dead body he passed by, both sith and jedi.
"They all died as heros to their own cause."

Jake gave a scoff.
"More like victims." He said harshly. Then he realized what he said. He frowned at his own words. "Sorry."

"Its ok. Anger may cloud one's judgement, making them say things they realize is wrong. What I meant is that they thought they were being heros to their cause and people, making them heros, maybe to not our eyes, but to their's."

"I know what you meant.." Jake said simply. He looked around, gently placing the fallen lightsaber on his belt. He wondered if his old friend had made it out.

Shar keeps looking around the bodies until he sees a body he recognizes. It was the body of his friend that he met when they were both padawans. One of his mouths smiled at the happy memories of this friend, the other mouth frowned at the site of his body. He walked to the body to see that he died since he was crushed by falling rubble during the bombardment. Shar realized the eyes of his friend were still open, and thus closed them while saying a personal message to his now dead friend.
*gets up*
"Rest in peace my friend."

"Come on, let's check out farther in. There may be survivers." Jake said, sounding even more determined. He gripped the lightsaber he had picked up as he headed on without checking to see if Shar was following him

Shar, realizing Jake was goign ahead, said a last goodbye to his friend, then followed Jake. Shar didn't want to tell Jake that the chance of finding a survivor is slim, but he guessed that he already knew it, just didn't want to shatter any hope there is.
